Laboratory of the STAPS institute entitled Multidisciplinary approaches to the sciences of sports training.
LAB DEFINITION:
Research is an essential element of the university system. At Laghouat ISTAPS University, university training is supported by laboratory research activity. This does not mean that we teach what the laboratories produce. Above all, this means that teaching is carried out by active, productive researchers, integrated in quality laboratories.
STAPS teachers in Laghouat carry out their research activity in a laboratory, scanning various scientific fields entitled Multidisciplinary approaches to the sciences of sports training. This laboratory is recognized as an advanced multidisciplinary research approach in fields as diverse as human movement, health, sports training and psychology education as well as other fields of research.
The STAPS of Laghouat also integrates human and biological research and development groups in the field of science and the human and educational movement. This innovation hub brings together a technological platform and materials, as well as reception spaces for research organizations, conferences and seminars and study days. It thus houses the laboratory.
The subject matter of the work of the research groups is centered on four main axes
1 / Detection and orientation of high performance athletes: Code C1172601 All the factors that make a sports career successful are not easy to observe and measure, let alone analyze them and draw the right conclusions.
- Finding the most “promising” is anything but easy.
- It is difficult to predict very early predictions about an athlete’s development potential.
- A well-conducted detection aims to increase good performance
- probability of identifying the most promising elements
2 / Quality of training and learning at STAPS institutes : Code C1172602 The profile of students must be balanced (between practical and theoretical, between literary and scientific subjects, etc.). A versatile profile and strong personal involvement are required.
3 /Child Physical activities : Code C1172603 Physical activity has many positive consequences for the body. In particular, it promotes healthy growth and development since by moving and exercising, a child works his muscles, improves his motor skills, endurance and strength.
physical activity among young people is therefore essential. Moving is not only beneficial for physical health. Active children are also better psychologicaly .
4 / High level sports training: Code C1172604 Each sport requires different skills but to reach a high level at present, good physical condition is essential. It is quite obvious in sports such as football and handball or in athletics, but it is also valid in combat sports or even in extreme conditions like arid zones like Laghouat.
The performances required to reach a high level of competition have become so high that to be able to play in the big leagues, you have to put all the advantages on your side.
If before, you could just be gifted or just train hard to get there, today you need not only a genetic potential, you have to train hard in your discipline, but often you also need an auxiliary strength training , basic fitness or even relaxation.
STAPS Laboratory brings together 5 thematic Research Projects University Training PRFU with the common objective of understanding and training doctoral students and enriching scientific research within our STAPS Institute in Laghouat .
Theme 1 Governance of sports organizations:
The day after obtaining a major project on the governance of sport and sports performance was undertaken in Algeria to bring together the country’s driving forces around a common ambition. How can the business world effectively get involved and take an active role in sport governance?
Go further
Sport is a dynamic economic sector, which in Algeria represents billions of dinars. Although there are already many interactions between the economic world and the world of sport, these are too often limited to a simple financial transaction, where companies are only donors of sports events and their players.
The economic world wishes to go beyond this simple role of financial and to commit itself as a real partner accompanying the necessary evolution of the sports world. As encouraged, it is about building bridges to galvanize the mutual enrichment of stakeholders.
At the same time, the sports movement has not always welcomed this subject. However, the current challenges encourage collaboration between the two parties which could help prevent possible scandals that tarnish the values of sport and the associated brands. It is time to involve the business world responsibly in the governance of sport, in order to bring new expertise and valuable skills in strategy and management .
Theme 2 Sport and health:
The benefits of sport on physical health. Beyond the obvious improvements in sports performance and physical condition, regular sport is incredibly effective in preventing many chronic, cardiovascular and even degenerative diseases.
Theme 3 Doping in the sports environment:
Doping is a complex and very controversial problem. The economic and political stakes are enormous, because for the past fifteen years, significant capital has been invested in sport. In our research group we study the medical and psychological as well as sporting implications of doping, the political and economic implications that have given rise to other areas of research.
According to the International Olympic Committee: ‘Doping consists in administering substances belonging to prohibited classes of pharmacological agents and / or using various prohibited methods.’
Theme 4 Sports re-education in the school environment:
Any physical and sporting practice involves some risks. Trauma and injuries are common, but good initial medical treatment limits the consequences, and allows you to return to sport in good conditions. The physiotherapist is an important health professional in this issue.
Trauma, injury
Taking care of an injury or injured person on the ground is essential to limit the worsening of the injury and its complications. It is necessary to immediately stop sport, with the application of the principle of good care. This involves immediately stopping the sport, associated with the application of ice, and immobilizing the injured body part if possible. The sportsman will request the medical opinion as soon as possible, the physiotherapist after a summary assessment, will seek medical advice and advice, in order to carry out specialized assessments and imaging as soon as possible.
Theme 5 Child motor intelligence in schools environment:
the child is a fundamental instrument for conquering his universe. This instrument cannot be studied only from a physiological point of view. It must be related to the psychic life of the child. Therefore : Complex interactions between the motor and the psychic
Normal motor development implies a psyche of a certain quality. Motor activity, insofar as it is intentional, this motor activity cannot be separated from intelligence, from knowledge. It’s action that helps intelligence to build.
The very small child acts, and it is gradually that he will be able to imagine in the head what he has acted. The action of the immediate and the concrete will pass to more elaborate behaviors: one feeds the other. The motor helps intelligence to build and vice versa.
In the psyche, it’s not just intelligence, the notion of emotion is important. There is an interaction between the motor and the emotional. WALLON has shown the impact of muscle tone on the emotional state: The tonic dialogue precedes the verbal dialogue
Motor activity will depend on the quality of emotional exchanges between mother and child. For the child’s psychomotor development to be harmonious, it is necessary that the child feels good and that he experiences pleasure.
