The subject touches on both the theoretical notions of the inhabited, appropriation, mutation, etc. and their concrete manifestations through a very broad scalar approach, ranging from housing strictly speaking to residential space to urban or rural housing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">It focuses on the major issues at stake in the management, development and future of the Algerian city and its residential areas. Thus, learning about urban composition, urban figures, morphology, public spaces and urban landscapes requires in-depth knowledge (social, economic and environmental) and appropriate artistic or creative skills.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">This \u2018Urban Architecture\u2019 theme deals with the close relationship between architecture and the urban context, and will enable learners to acquire skills and knowledge about the processes involved in making the city and its image.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Objectives<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Raising awareness of the complexity of the urban environment (social, economic, cultural and environmental).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Introduction to the design of public spaces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Introduction to fields related to architecture.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">THEMATIC 3: ARCHITECTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND TECHNOLOGY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">The aim of this thematic is to provide a framework for raising awareness and introducing learners to the contribution of scientific and technical knowledge to architectural practice. The architect&#8217;s mission is not just to integrate an object into a social, cultural or natural environment, but also into a technological environment. Energy and ecological issues require highly specialised approaches to the design of space and the integration of technologies. Architecture is also called upon to be \u2018efficient\u2019 because it is so much a part of everyday life and its consumption patterns.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">This thematic provides an opportunity to experiment with the use of technology in the design process and in the act of building, with a view to achieving functional, economic and environmental performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Objectives<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Initiation and construction of a coherent body of knowledge (epistemology) on the subject (vocabulary, concepts, notions, current events, issues, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Introduction to and mastery of the appropriate conceptual, methodological and logistical tools for establishing diagnoses in relation to the subject (through practice, exploration, analysis, handling equipment, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Raise students&#8217; awareness of the threat of global warming, and of technological advances and their contribution to the building industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Acquisition of information relating to the use of new technologies in the building industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">Introduction to the introduction of \u2018intelligence\u2019 in the building industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">THEMATIC 4: ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN BUILT HERITAGE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Book Antiqua, Palatino;\">The \u2018Heritage\u2019 thematic introduces students to an understanding of the dialogue that needs to be established between the existing heritage context and the buildings planned as part of an architectural project. The aim is to bring students closer to ordinary and monumental traditional construction &#8211; to familiarise them with the history of urban culture, to strengthen their critical analysis skills and, above all, to exercise their ability to plan.
