Research Topics

  • Team 1
  • Effects of thermal and mechanical loads on the behavior of concrete structures reinforced with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bars.
  • Effects of dynamic loads on the behavior of FRP tubes.
  • Long-term behavior of high performance mortars based on dune sand, plant fibers and other for repair of masonry and concrete structures.
  • Team 2
  • Effects of restraints to the lateral bending and torsion produced by assemblies of metallic structural elements on the value of the elastic critical moment and the lateral torsional buckling ultimate moment.
  • Investigation of the dynamic behavior of masonry walls (stone, adobe, sand-lime bricks, red bricks and concrete blocks).
  • Behavior of reinforced and prestressed concrete elements in hot and dry regions using concrete consisted of materials developed locally.
  • Team 3
  • Establishment of an approach to predict cementitious materials durability based on indicators of durability.
  • Hydration/drying interactions in cement matrix materials.
  • Experimental Study of aging on laboratory specimens and existing structures. Concrete carbonation study.
  • Team 4
  • Concrete Performance using fine materials other than cement.
  • Valorization of local sands (dune and crushing sands).
  • Development of new concrete and mortars.
